Re: Lake Winnipesaukee
How was the lake this weekend? I heard there was a nasty hail storm.

Re: Lake Winnipesaukee
I was in Oklahoma. Did anyone go up?

Re: Lake Winnipesaukee
I went for a ride on Sunday. The lake was practically empty. There was some blowboat regatta going on in the broads. Just a nice (slightly cool) day to go for a short rip around the lake.

Re: Lake Winnipesaukee
I was up - the storm that ripped through Sat. afternoon was pretty intense. Sky got black - sort of felt like a scene from Wizard of Oz - and it was like someone just turned a switch and the wind hit, I didn't see any hail but the wind and rain was heavy for about an hour or so (starting around 4:45pm). Stood at the end of the dock until a bolt of lightning hit a little too close, then went inside... Other than that, lake was nice and pretty quiet - gotta love post Labor Day boating!

Here we go again guys...
I have attached a notice from the NH Department of Safety regarding a public hearing to create a 45 MPH speed limit during the day and 25 mile an hour speed limit at night. The hearing has been scheduled for 10:00 am on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 2006 at the Meredith Community Center, One Circle Drive, Meredith, NH. NH law states that a petition (signed by 25 or more) can be filed to the department of safety to implement a regulation. Speed limits, Horse Power restrictions, No Wake Zones, etc. many lakes in NH have these types of restrictions and they got them via this process. The process is: 1. File peitition with 25 or more signatures. 2. The Department of Safety MUST hold a public hearing, testimonials, attendance and letters will be taken into consideration 3. The hearing director will make a recommendation to the Commissioner and he will make a decision. This is a different process that the first attempt that went through the legislature process.
