I had the same problem with our water patrol. They kept telling everybody they were looking for me. Well the best defense is a good offense! The next time I was out I pulled right up to them and asked what the deal was and what I did. They kissed my butt and said everything was fine. Be sure to do that before you get into the beer though!

Just take the witnesses that were in your boat to court with you, as well as any other go fast boaters that were running with you. If they ticket you and you have no witnesses to give your account of what happened, you are screwed. This will also keep the water patrol from believing everything the pontooners say from then on.

IN ALL SERIOUSNESS YOU NEED TO CONTACT WATER PATROL TO GIVE THEM YOUR SIDE AND KEEP A RECORD OF IT SO IF IT TURNS INTO A HARASSMENT CASE YOU CAN PROVE YOUR CASE. I WOULD ALSO LET THEM KNOW THATS WHAT YOU ARE DOING ,SO THEY ACTUALLY THINK ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING BEFORE THEY DO IT.

I don't see how they could ticket you if they don't witness the offense, period.
Sounds like one of your buddies might be playing a practical joke. Happened to me several times when I had my jet boat.
Sill it's a good idea to check in with the patrol.
I'm fortunate in that most of the water patrol launches from our civic club ramp free of charge, the same one that I mow and maintain, so I make a point of getting to at least know their names.

I will trade the boat for a vette or an sl500, or just sell it outright for $27,900. Check boattrader, that is 1000 less than what it is listed for there, just for you guys cuz I love ya!
