My friend's boat sank at the dock!
Got a call at my office a little while ago from a friend at my marina, told me he found his boat sunk at the dock (30' fairly new cruiser type) this morning. I'm only a few minutes away, when I got there, the water was over the sides of the cockpit, she was sitting on the bottom, low tide on it's way up, there was a crew there with the pumps going. I jumped in the water stuffed some towels under his transom door, but the tide beat us out, it's gone, she will be under most of today in about 8' of water. We'll have to wait until tonight to get her floating, what a shame!
Don't know the cause yet.

I/O's ... I'm thinking bellows too, I helped him wax his boat at the beginning of the season, I have a habit of checking the thru hulls when I walk around a boat, especially the plastic ones.

I think, with the help of the marina, we'll get her floating tonight, haul her and wait for the insureance company, I think they will total it, my buddy will find out soon enough!
