Betty Cook Interview
All you old cronies who are into your history as much as I may like to take a peep at my library over on the Boatmad website based in the UK. I have had kicking around for years an audio recording of Betty Cook and have finally got off my arse (as we say in the UK) and asked for it to be uploaded for all to enjoy. So, without further ado, with kind permission of BBC Radio Solent, the crew from Boatmad and I present the late great Betty cook:-
Enjoy!

Re: Betty Cook Interview
WOW! Thanks littlenige - yes that's definitely her voice!! - brings back memories...
One of my most vivid memories of her is after she won the '77 World Championships in Key West. My dad and I followed her in a seaplane (I was 10 then) and the Pilot got us real low to the water several times - it was almost like being in the boat - the sea was very rough. After the race we went to go and congratulate her and she said she saw us next to her waving at her in the seaplane!
Here's a couple of pics my mom took at the Benihana West in 1978...many more of these on Lucididee's website...
