Re: Truck/Boat Crash Near New Orleans
Apparently after a few beers he decided to bring my boat back, lost control of his truck over Lake Ponchatrain and crashed, boat went in the water. You can see water pouring out of it. Truck, boat and trailer totaled. Insurance only on the truck. This whole thing is like a soap opera, don't want to share all the details till I get my money, then I'll share everything. Thanks for all the support, thought I was out my money, may still be,but I'm an optimist with a lot of trust in people, tho that's maybe not the wisest way to be as a businessman.

That was the strange thing, searched all over the net, even had his driver's liscence # to use in a search. Finally googled LA state police, found a few phone #'s and by accident got the officer that worked the wreck. Why didn't NOLA pick it up?I was convinced he made up the story, obviously not.

I wonder how he crashed on a bridge straight away. Maybe someone stoped in front of him,its a pretty good drop from the bridge and its swamp there.

Re: Truck/Boat Crash Near New Orleans
Should be a good story, just don't know if it's going to have a happy ending or not. My attorney,a good friend, customer, and OSO member, has plan B ready just in case. And the Walker County,AL district attorney, also a good friend and customer, has plan C readyjust in case.Another sad thing is when I thought I was getting the boat back, another OSO member was ready to buy it so it would have all worked out for everyone, until the wreck .I feel bad for him,he really wanted the boat. More later. Robert

MagicFloat, I'm really glad this is working out for ya'all to this point. This is just another case where we all have to use better judgment when operating a vehicle or boat when alcohol is involved. I just see more and more incidents lately, and to be honest with you, it really scares the ch*t out of me. We all have to much to lose at this point in our lives, and trust me I like to tip a few back with the rest of them, but there is always a right place and right time. We all have to make that choice. I don't know about you guys, I want to enjoy the rest of my life doing the thing that I love, boating sensibly with family and friends that I love. Sorry for the saga. JJ

Re: Truck/Boat Crash Near New Orleans
Next chapter, got a $5000 cashier's check today,my attorney said don't deposit it or we will give up the right to prosecute on the bad check for accepting partial payment. The guy called tonite, promised $10k next week and the rest (3K) the following week. I explained that no checks would be deposited till I had all the money and I would turn it over to the local DA next week. Weird deal,if he was trying to get out of the bad check deal, why send 5K? Maybe just 1K and roll the dice, and why does he call me every few days, why not just ignore it? I know I am too trusting, but I do have 5k now, maybe more shortly. This is too weird,if he is trying to stiff me,why send a 5K cashier's check. More later
