The F-18E/F is around 3.2k. They're newer, so less chit breaks.

I never worked much with the F-14's. If I was at work I could look up the data, but I'd say it was probably close to 6k.
The F-14 was a really cool aircraft, but in todays terms its considered a dumb aircraft. No integrated vehicle health monitoring system. So the techs had to be real mechanics and troubleshooters since there was no computer telling them what was wrong. The result - a lot of parts being changed out that didn't need to be.
With the F-18 we have BIT (built in test) which pops a code when something malfunctions. The troubleshooters can use that code to pinpoint the faulty WRA.
