Requirements are.. Must be under 40ft but damn close to it, (slip size restrictions) Budget is $100k +/- $10k for the right boat Has to be a rough water crusher. I live in New Zealand and all the boating is open (sea) water usually with 3-7ft chop. Boat needs to be strong and reliable and bulletproof. I don't need a total rocketship but 90mph flat out would be nice. I would quite like a triple I now that limits my options but we boat along way offshore and if one motor goes down I don't want to have to come back at 20mph. Im thinking something along the lines of the Outerlimits Stilleto in the classifieds, with trip 525SC. There is no big offshore performance boat's in NZ, my old Sea Ray Pachanga 32 was one of the biggest of the style and that wouldn't even rate a mention in the USA. So it's not a case of being able to test a lot of boats out. Thanks James |

Re: Best Buy for a 100k???
Thanks for all the replies, as evidenced by all the replies there is a huge number of boats that fit the requirements which makes trying to narrow down the right boat exceptionally tough. I haven't ridden in any of these brands of boats so I am flying somewhat blind. NZ is a 20 Hour flight away from Miami so I want to make sure when I go I have narrowed it down somewhat.
I know I am not going to get a new boat or anything close, mid to late 90's is fine, it has to be under 40ft, no exceptions, (our dry stack building is maxed out at 40ft) otherwise I would go for that 41ft apache or a 42ft fountain, I also need a cabin of sorts (as much as I would love a a 6 bolster full out race machine the minister of finance says no....) Thanks James |

For a real wave crusher, everyone knows you need a Cigarette Top Gun. Probably the best deal for a 38 foot Top Gun is this one. A little older but rock solid fresh 572s. 85-90 MPH, and you'd have money left over to get it home.
