Default Best Buy for a 100k???

I have a feeling this is going to open a can of worms, but I am currently very tentativly looking for a new boat.

Requirements are..

Must be under 40ft but damn close to it, (slip size restrictions)

Budget is $100k +/- $10k for the right boat

Has to be a rough water crusher. I live in New Zealand and all the boating is open (sea) water usually with 3-7ft chop. Boat needs to be strong and reliable and bulletproof.

I don't need a total rocketship but 90mph flat out would be nice.

I would quite like a triple I now that limits my options but we boat along way offshore and if one motor goes down I don't want to have to come back at 20mph.

Im thinking something along the lines of the Outerlimits Stilleto in the classifieds, with trip 525SC. There is no big offshore performance boat's in NZ, my old Sea Ray Pachanga 32 was one of the biggest of the style and that wouldn't even rate a mention in the USA. So it's not a case of being able to test a lot of boats out.

Thanks

James

Well, my boat is $99,900! It's only 35', it's only a twin, and she does 80 mph, BUT I also have a set of 1998 HP500s that have approx. 70 hours on them, that I planned on installing this winter, after I have them "Pumped up" to ~ 570-600HP which would put my top speed about 93-95 mph, acccording to the manufacturer, Nordic. My boat is FULLY loaded, runs in the ocean very well, and is in great shape!
Check the the link to my ad, on the bottom of my signature.
Just curious, what are you guys paying for gas down under.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.
Thanks,
Dean

Tripple used ones are probably going to be easy to get deals on with the price of fuel these days.

My 40' Hustler is up for sale in the classifieds. It was built by the Fiores (prior to Outerlimits being formed), so the Stilletto looks a lot like it. Crushes waves!

Only a twin engine... will not run 90 though.

There really is a great deal of product out there right now in that price range. It may not be new, for what you are looking, but like Dean's Nordic, much of it is VERY nice.

There was a triple engine 38 Sonic in the classifieds a short time ago. Don't remember much about it other than thinking not many people would want a 38 w/ trips. Would be a wave crusher with 6 ft headroom that should run reasonably fast.
