I don't know what the deal is. I left Joe a VM several days ago; and extended and offer to help if I could.

If he mishandled the money and he made a mistake, well he made a mistake. I am NOT covering or making excuses, but you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip. I would like to think that he is out working feverishly to make up the money to return is as he did the first portion.

I will get him. He will be sorry. His reputation is going to sh*t. (It already was bad I am finding out) All the marine shops in his area have the news about him now and they don't want him around. I am slowly tightening the rope around his neck :D

There is no "mistake" here. He owes me the remaining $1,000.oo That's it. There is nothing more to discuss. If he is having some problems, then he could at least return my calls, and emails and say he is working on returning the money. I have nothing. I was perfectly willing to give him a chance, the ball was in his court and he fouled.

Usually there is 3 sides to every story(mine, Matt's and Joe's) .....we'll you know the truth here because you gave him my money. So you know I am not lying. I have done 3 transactions with OSO people in the last 6 months, and everyone of them have been satisfied and happy with their purchase I sold them. That's the way to do business.

I totally agree Gerard. I am not doubting or disputing the facts here at all. I wish there was something I could do to help yourself; and I offered that to Joe as well. My reference to a mistake was that Joe may have made spending/mishandling the money before he had performed the contracted services and bought the associated goods; and it appears to be costing him more than the green.

I didn't know Joe from 'Adam' when he worked on my boat last year, as he and the dealer he worked for really came through for me; and he personally really went above and beyond what I needed/expected. I really wish there was something I could do to assist.

This guys has had every opportunity to make this right and he just continues to blow it off. How long has this been going on? If you cant come up with a $1000 in hours, days, weeks, months....you are way in over your head and shouldnt be in business for yourself. With this guy's cash flow issues or his I dont give a sh!t issues, someone else is going to get burned.

Not much else to say................I have a good reputation here on OSO. Joe (GOODT) doesn't. Alot of people here can vouch for me here on OSO for my character......doesn't look good for Joe. Joe has nothing to come on OSO and say....he owes me the money, he f*cked up the boat deal, he ripped me off, he tried to charge me for work that was never done,etc......... the list goes on. :mad:

I have had excellent business deals with Trick, Sydwayz, Trader1, BoardGod1 (Jeffrey). I don't "screw" people, I know what comes around goes around. Joe will get his.

truer words have not been spoken.......... I hope this can find a resolution that each side can walk away from and feel they received a fair deal, but it appears that is more and more unlikely.

In the NAvy they used to say "one ah schite covers a thousand atta boy's"..... this is probably good for all the atta boys a guy can accumulate....

I am at a loss, that just is not enought money to wake up feeling like schite over every morning. $500 million, well, maybe, but $1000 bucks, come on Joe......

can I make a suggestion? I was in your shoes some time ago with a boat manufacturer, mad as hell, angry to the point I wanted to drag the basturd behind a truck. I carried it a little far, after making my point I beat it with a sledge hammer a couple times to many....

your point has bene drilled home hard, you may want to step back and see how far you want to run this..........

just a suggestion from a guy who tries to play as straight as you do and is trying to be helpful to another boater, nothing more, nothing less....

Since he's posting here daily, he obviously knows about this thread and yet he doesn't respond. Kinda like the defense in a criminal case not putting the defendant on the stand. If there is a defense, he should and would have said so by now.

I have to also step in, Gerard is a stand up guy and I didn't ask him for a deposit. Joe has really screwed this up but I also think his repair job would have been just that for the price he quoted. I am now having both motors rebuilt as well as a one year warrenty. yeah its costing me but I know the boat will be right for the next owner and me(I an using it for labor day and the cambridge poker run). I feel I am getting a great deal for the close to 20k i am putting out so I know whoever gets thew boat will enjoy her as much as I did.

I do more for free to help people out in one day for free then most make in a week

I told matt I would not charge him for what I did for him

and offered to credit gerard over 300 just to keep the peace


Ive had 1000 in the truck for matt for the last week in an envelope

I told gerard Id rather just send it directly to him and stile will after the treads are deleated

oh and my customer that bounced the check on me I have to send him a cert letter and wait 30 days before I can file charges...but I will give him the benifit of dought before I go that far and wont trash him till its a last resort

Lets get this straight! Now I am irritated(finally) big time!!! The guy who checked out the motor last year charged me $150 of which consisted of taking off the head and the headers. Joe took off one header and my drive. Now I am no mechanic, but I have taken off and put a drive on......Doesnt take long. As for the header well its what 8 bolts????? Do the math and I think you will see that what he is charging is way off. Plus the fact nothing was done for three months. We should have had a performance contract and them he would have owed much more. I have to pay a bill for storage to the tune of about @$1,500 to watch my boat sit as it is supposed to be worked on. So not only did I lose the deal it has cost me money to watch my boat sit in disrepair for over three months. THANKS. As for the money you have said you have for me? Why have you not e mailed me back??? I call 15 times a day and cant leave a message because your mailbox is full???? I just want this whole situation over as soon as possible. I am not rich and everything that goes into this boat is hard work!!! So now with a 20k repair bill, $1,500 storage bill, $2,500 insurance(of which I cant use my boat), and $2,500 in payments, not to mention the opportunity cost and the stress this has caused me. You have put me in a spot That is tough but I will work through it and make it happen. I love the sport and think its too bad this crap has to happen. I am with Gerard on getting out. Its hard to want to be associated with the tarnished look some guys have given it. This was a childhood dream I made come true and one I almost wish didn't because it has become a nightmare!!! :( :( :( Sorry for the rant but I am just so angry at the complete and utter lack of professionalism I have been given. Thank god I treat my clients well.

So, now you admit owing me money, you admit you knew of this last week, yet you ignore my phone calls, emails, etc..... ????

You were given $2,200.00 of MY money. YOU did absolutely nothing to the boat in 3+ months. YOU sent me a check back for $1,651.00 that was NSF and cost me another $31.00 at my bank. Then you wired $1,000.00 into my account. You still owe me $1,200.00, since you did nothing to the boat.

YOu got my email, you either payup now, or it will cost you alot more money in court.

I dont think its a matter of how much money but money that is owed. if its not that much and less than what people put in the fuel tanks. Just pay it.

Goodt: How about if Semper agree's to take the thread down if you pay him? You send him the money and after the check clears (or if you still have his bank info wire it to him) he pulls this thread and starts a new on that says that you made good on the money. I know that if he tells you that he will do that that he will. That is how I had to handle my deal when I got hosed on some motors. We had a middle man (Playn) help out as a mediator. If you want I would be willing to do the same. I just want to see Semper get whole again and be able to move on and enjoy the sport again. Remember what may not seem like a lot to you could be a lot to some one else.

F Joe, leave the thread up and pay Gerard his money, his responses to this that he posted are the most stupid thing I have read in months, I think we are all more dumb for having to try to decipher it. PAY the money scumbag. I'm just thankful I pmed a couple other people on here to warn them about you before they sent their drives.
Secondly, your comment about doing things for free for more than people make in a week is ridiculous, your supposedly a business, businesses have to make money. then to blame it on another customer bouncing a check.:rolleyes:

then keep it up so if someone searches it they have an opportunity to see how he handles business, work and complaints.

I tried my best to keep out of this, but to me, the amount of money is irrelevant. I once took a guy to court for ten dollars. The prelim judge looked at the docket, then at me and said kind of sarcastically, "Oh, I see, this is the case over a matter of prinicple". I looked him dead in the eye and said, "Yes sir, it is. What price do you put on your priniciples? Is ten not enough? How about twenty?". He was not a happy judge when I drilled him like that. Thankfully, he wasn't the judge that heard the case, which I won.
