tooooooo slow
I know Ill never go to fast but whats a respectable speed for a 20'
What kind of a hull, what kind of water.
I had a 15ft Hydrostream that did in the high 70's and my buddy had a 17 that is in the mid 80's Jon |
Size doesnt matter  :p
Audio is right, some of the smaller boats click right along with the bigger ones.... well.... as speed goes at least ;) my 18 is a high 80mph boat...... so... tell us... wutcha runnin?? :D :D |
20' excalibur(7.4) it reads 65 on the speedo had it on a gps once and it was at 58 with bad prop
thats on lake erie, damn the low water level
What hp 7.4? What prop and what pitch?
ask sharkey if you need a big boat to hual ass and handle rough water.
a buddy that runs with us has a 21' baja with a stock 454 mag that does 74 on gps...
My powerplay 18' 3000lbs  does 63mph with a tired 270 hp 350 mag.. shes gonna be little faster this year with a 383 390+ hp :D :D |
its the 310hp with a 21 mirage plus I should be able to run a 23 and put through hull exhaust on it
it starts to chine walk a little when I get close to top speed (60mph) how do I tell what the max I can get out of this hull?
When the chine walking gets so bad you can't steer, you've tested you set up to the limit. There are things you can do to lessen chine walking (tabs, 4 blade props, less trim, hydraulic steering, etc...)
its not bad now and I havent noticed it as much as I did when I first got the boat. Im just curious how fast that hull can do
toss in a 900sc and a dry sump and lets see :D
And I thought the answer was,
"Just a little bit faster". |
what the hell if someone wants to lend me a 900sc Ill give it a try :)
IF IT DOESNT SCARE THE **** OUT OF YOU ITS TO SLOW
