Definitely go with the 18'. I owned three of them before age 21. One X-18 & two 2 + 3's. Unbelievable what they will go through for there size. Don't try to make them into a fast boat, as you can get in trouble. Use them as they were originally meant to be used, sticking to the 65 M.P.H. range and they are a great little boat. Ed

I beg to differ on the 65 MPH comment.. Heck, the 18's are faster than that from the factory these days...

Go for it...I "HAD" two friends that died in two separate older 18' Donzi's that barrel-rolled & one friend that broke his back & his life was/is severely limited due to a simular 18' Donzi accident. The hull bottom design was never originally intended to go the speeds that people ask of them today. Ed

Sorry to hear about your friends, been there, got the scars.. However, with today's steering, drives and props, the boats are a heck of a lot more stable then back in the yesteryears... Still a drivers boat, but very controllable once you are familiar with it.

I run a combination of one-half Salt-away and one-half Turtle Wax carwash soap. Works like like a champ. When I had the heads off my Donzi's motor, everything was very clean. Even the aluminum exhaust manifolds looked new...

Gino,
Call Ocean Performance at 860-388-6000. They may have what you are looking for in a Donzi.
