Cool I know that boat. It has purple graphics right? I usually get a cabin of camp directly across from them in the field to keep the tree sap off my boat and truck. Can't wait to see you guys there. |

From the Indiana/Michigan state line you're looking at something like 160 miles. Come on up....and bring 10X (Frank) and some of the other guys from Chi-town with you. |
Re: Hardy Dam hot boat weekend

We'll see if Michelle's up for the drive...what are accommodations like, camping? That's cool with us, what do you do with the boats overnight?

I am still prop testing and dialing in the carbs, but overall the boat is running great. I spun my 30 labbed bravo 6200 and my 32 about 5700. I am going to try Craigs P5X and see how that works? I am trying to get around 5800-6000. I might just get a 31 labbed rushed in from throttle up for the weekend. |

Re: Hardy Dam hot boat weekend
Mike it is all camping. We beach our boat in a lagoon right at the campground. Some guys pull there boats out at night. The launch is in the park too. I'll call you tonight or tomorrow. It is best to show up before Saturday, because the campground fills up, Brower Park in Mecosta County if you want to look it up. KS

First off, Hello to everyone! There are many Brower park seasonal campers that frequent this site and we are one of them. Lot 119. There has been much more buzz over hot boat weekend this year in the park and I think if the weather is nice it will be even bigger than last year. We have about a dozen people coming in our group and bringing their tents and campers early because Brower is first come first serve. So keep that in mind. Last year we had so many coolers full of beer we couldn't get our Sunsation 288 to plane out on our way to the cove.
Don't forget, BRING YOUR CASES OF BEADS! https://emardigrasbeads.com Here is our boat... |
Re: Hardy Dam hot boat weekend
Anyone know who it may have been that I saw towing what looked like an AO single engine, all white cat down the I-196 express way this morning near Holland/Hudsonville heading northbound???

Re: Hardy Dam hot boat weekend
More pics please...I wanna convince some more Chi-town boys to make this run. How far is the campground from the party-cove area? Or are they one and the same? How sandy is that beach...as in...do I really want to risk beaching a red hull on it?
|
Re: Hardy Dam hot boat weekend
We will be up and camping early Friday and hopefully will have the boat in tow.

I pulled out after 2 hours, burned about $50 in gas out running the rain form New Buffula. Mike I will get you a camp site next to mine will talk details later. Hardy runs about 18 miles of river to boat on. The camp ground is about 10 miles or so from the cove and the sand bar is about 8 miles in the opposite direction. |
Re: Hardy Dam hot boat weekend

p.s. we would travel with Mike s...... There are a couple nice hotels about 10 miles north in a town called Big Rapids, pretty cool Northern MI college town. BR has most anything you would need. There is not really a run just a big party. I saw a 38 Top Gun, 39 Velocity, 35 Nordic and a couple big Black Thunders launch at brower park. You will be fine running the river. The second half is a little tricky but I you follow me I can show you the ropes, if you can go that slow. Just follow the high bank and watch your depth sounder. The main half of the river is nice and big, not much to worry about very deep, clear etc. If you want to know more I 'll PM you my number and give you the skinnny. Andy |

p.s. we would travel with Mike s...... like magic said hotels are about 10 miles north in big rapids, ez drive. we had our top gun up there last weekend. just be sure to follow someone on the upper river. the lower half is big. lots of water there. and sandy beaches. todd |
Re: Hardy Dam hot boat weekend
You'd have to be ready to run out of town at about 3 in the afternoon on Friday to travel with me...I'm camping for sure.

Re: Hardy Dam hot boat weekend
I'm thinking of caravaning up Friday with whomever is going (AO31,sommerfliesby,BobZ, etc). I'm pretty flexible with time so whatever works is fine with me morning, noon or 3PM, I very flexible. I'm most likely going to peel off an hour or so into Michigan and stay Friday night in Saugatuck at my buddy and his wife's house. Then, I was thinking of traveling up Saturday morning maybe follow Kaama.
Mark, what time would you be hitting the road Saturday morning? Are you returning Saturday night or camping? Thanks, Dan |
Re: Hardy Dam hot boat weekend
