If it is dialed in correctly, over 100. Mine with 700's runs 97-100 depending on fuel, water,# of pass.,etc. Lots of time getting it dialed in. Thinking about upgrading you power?

yes , I got the itch again, like I don't have anywhere else to spend my money! It would be cool to run a buck in this boat.
PPLAY33 how does it handle at those speeds and have you reaches 100? :drink:

PP, I was so ready to bash this whole thread not believing those speeds but after reading yours, I am convinced. If yours is really doing 100 with 700's, Im amazed. I ran in Ozzies with 850's and shorty drives and we ran in the low 90's. How can you run 100 with only 700HP?? I have HP 500's in mine and look for the very big water so I can have an advantage against speed.

This was point exactly, but didnt want to say anything cause I was not 100% sure. Ozzy always was a straight shooter, and to me had the nicest 33. If I remember correctly, 103 was his top end. Jeff

Totally believable to me...JROMY has 525s with Sportmaster shorties and it runs 85 anytime with stock blades. During the sea trial, John Tomlinson thought it was in the upper 80s, although they didn't have the GPS installed at that time.

Certain hulls are limited to certain speeds. Sometimes no matter how much hp you throw at the equation the speed benifit is not in relationshp to the hp increase. I personally know of a boat with a blower dynoed @ 702hp and did 98, and the same boat with 720 - 750 hp did 95. Alot to think about, how it's set up, laid up, cabin and cockpit configurations. Im not putting this PP down, or any PP as a matter of fact. I personal love these boats, think they are extremely well built, and wish they were still being made to this day. Jeff

I was going to say something similar ..arnt the PP's straight V bottoms, no pad, no steps etc.. If speed is what you want why not get a cat or a step boat.. Although I do love Powerplays I dont realy think of them as speed demons, definately a classic rough water bottom though :drink:

Not just a matter of HP, boats need TQ. That would explain higher HP motors not doing higher speeds if the TQ is not higher as well.
