If you want a sit down single eng.boat velocity all the way! 1 hp500 81+mph and loves rough water. If you want twins 320 velocity 77+ with little 496s.Big cabin, handles great and eats big water.I had one and we ran lots of poker runs in huge water and loved it.And great on fuel. Why be like the rest own a fast boat with small power and kick some ass.It pisses them off

RUNNINHORN you should make sure you take a look at Pantera, Active Thunder, PowerPlay, Sunsation, Superboat and Sutphen. As far as what you will need to run 70+ MPH a 454 Mag in a 24' Pantera or Superboat should put you there. If you get into a 28' boat with a single engine you should look for a HP-500 to comfortably get you into the low to mid 70's. And a 30-34'boat with twin 454's or 502's should get you mid to high 70's, some may get into 80MPH. All these boats are good, it all depends on what suits you, style, comfort, look, price, cockpit and cabin space ect. Superboat builds a 30' that they claim will run 74 MPH with a lab finished prob for $64,000 well built strong boat but limited on features. The 29' Formula is a nice boat, they are offering rebates and low finance they also come with a 5 year warranty on everything. The 32' Sunsation is also a very nice choice it will run low 70's with the Mercury 6.2's and high 70's with the 454 Mags.

Good luck, let us know what you decide on

Welcome to the board, you will get lots of advice.

The best advice I can give is get a test ride and do your homework. What works for me might not work for what you want. If you don't want amenities, skip the Donzi and Formula. A 29 Fountain will get you in the mid 70's with a 500EFI, not much cabin though, Velocity's are very fast, nice test in Boating last year with, Donzi, Fountain, Velocity, Eliminator, Formula and I think 1 more.

Brands you don't hear as much about in the rags are Pantera, Sunsation, Sonic, Active Thunder. You need to check them all out.

My 27 Fountain runs 63-67 on GPS most of the summer with half fuel and 2 people depending on temp and humidity with a 454MPI 385HP on flat river water just as a point of refrence.

RUNNINHORN, check out Active Thunder, I, like H2O, checked out the same boats, and for quality, customer service, best warranty, room, they were the best. You can go to their website (www.activethunderboats.com) go to graphics check Radioactive out thats my boat. go to latest news and see Thunderstorm and Radioactive being built right on the site, its real cool. Your welcome for a ride, give me a call if you want to talk, 228-255-3400 Jeff Jassby Steve at Active Thunder 954-782-1111

RUNNINHORN,
Welcome to the board. You came to right place if you’re looking for opinions. Are you looking to buy new or used? How important is cabin space? Are you looking for a boat with twins or a single? What kind of budget are you on? All of the boats you mentioned are very good boats. It depends on what you want out of the boat. Give us a little more feedback.

Definately Sonic, as best bang for the buck. www.sonicusaboats.com

Look for a post from a few days ago started by 'Too Old' asking for info on the 31SS. Lots of info on that thread.
