Weather question.

What's the difference between scattered and isolated Thunderstorms? To me it would seem they are both the same thing.

Funny GL.....

I think scattered would mean seperate, but possible over a wide area. I think isolated would be likely, but in limited areas and durations.....but WTF do I know....... V ........

Up here in Chicago it means that they don't know what its going to do.

Unless a hurricane is brewing, S. Fla forecast could be on tape during the Summer...."Sunny today, with a high around 94, chance of thnderstorms this afternoon, clearing and low of 82 this evening......"

Hey, someone get me a job doing this, if a hurricane comes I'll yell "you're all SOL and I quit" and haul azz.......

Scattered means numerous storms throughout a wide area.
Isolated means only a couple little storms concentrated in small areas.

Cash, One of our weather knobs on a local tv station says this all the time, I'm not kidding:
"It may or may not rain today"

Since you're asking an advanced question regarding precipitation, I assume you already know the difference between partly cloudy and partly sunny.
