Have you seen an Agressor in person? The first Agressor I ever saw was sitting next to a 25' Outlaw. The Baja looked massive compared to the little Sunsation.

Why the change? Both boats have their strengths and weaknesses so I'm not bashing either - but your change seems strange to me.

Where to you boat? How rough of waters? How many people? Etc, etc, etc?

the first reason to change my boat is speed!!! for 35000$ you will get a 1999-2000 ol25 with a 502 or a 454. i am getting a 2001 agressor with a hp500 , long trim tab and hydraulic steering. my old boat was running 65 and the sunsation will probably do more than 80 for the same money.

Re: 2001 sunsation agressor

I very, very nearly bought a Sunsation Rocket. Same thing as an Agressor less the two swim platform/steps in the back. The interior space was quite limited for my needs.

But, at 24' running surface w/ the 7' beam and deep V it's as good as it get's in the rough without going longer. Should be able to handle same or worse water than the 25' Outlaw.

Here's some alternatives:

Velocity 26'er

Scarab 29'er

Profile 26'er

Donzi 28'er

Velocity 28'er

Profile 29'er

Warlock 25'er

Sunsation 288!

Eliminator Eagle 28'er w/ blown 502

American Offshore 26'er w/ blown 510ci - 100mph?

HTM 24 w/ 525

...may more in OSO and BoatTrader classifieds. :drink:

I am not shure exactly what you are looking for but I would be quite suprised if that boat would do 80+ with 470 hp. It sounds a little optimistic on the speed.

just one more Sunsation data point - I've personally driven a 2004 288 w/ a 500HP to 74mph on GPS with 5 people in the boat.

Re: 2001 sunsation agressor

Aggressor 25/Ty here on OSO has his for sale. Its a 2001 25 Sunsation with an HP500. I've been in the boat several times. I can liken the handling of the boat to that of a go-kart on flat water. We were also caught in 3-5 footers for a long stretch on the Chesapeake Bay a couple seasons ago. We were running with a 41 Velocity; and while it was not like riding in a Cadillac, the Sunsation handled the water just fine. The 7' beam allows the boat to cut/slice through the water much better than you expect.

If you want a floating living room the sunsation the is not the best choice. I had a 93 Aggressor with a 454 Mag, sorry I sold it. Always felt secure in it. You do your job driving it and it will not fail you. Tuff boat with sports car handeling. If Sunsation still built them I would buy one tomorrow. Just my $.02 . :D

Not sure how the speed of the Agressor compares to a 24 Superboat, the hulls are similar. My boat runs in the UPPER 70's with 425 HP.

If you are upgrading for speed, the Agressor is 5-10 mph faster than the OL with equal power.

Re: 2001 sunsation agressor

As others have said the Agressor is a smaller boat. But it will also be faster and better in the rough. And it sounds like the boat you are looking at has all the goodies already. If you don't need the cockpit/cuddy space you will like the boat.

The sunny doesn't have a step bottom so it won't see the speeds the Superboat will. But. it should run 75-78 consistanly witha an HP500. Maybe 80 in the right conditions.

Re: 2001 sunsation agressor

if you are considering other makes i have 27 Warlock that might fit your requirements, as far as the sunsation it is quite smaller than the OL ,but would be faster, not sure about 80 with an HP500.
