if three is no cash prize it is not gambling and as such they have to find another law to regulate with...........

it is always a game of using the easiest law to enforce..........

a lot of PR's runs have both a donation to the charity plus a pay out to the winners. First, second, and third usually get cash, and in some instances some of the winners donate their winnings back to the charity, that was the case at Smoke in the Water when Myra and Bruce won third prize, they gave their winning's to Make a Wish. I am assuming the payout portion to the winner is what he has a problem with. I have no idea if there was a charity involved on your lake, just posting based on events I have been at.

Then why did Las Vegas have gaming long before anyone else? Regulated by the Feds but only in one state? Doesn't make sense.

I think it's state regulated.

High Roller was legal. Might have been illegal as planned but was legal as turned out. Run stopped after crash. No card turn in. No payout. We all just went home...

Wow, sounds like the Texas AG has a lot of spare time. I am shocked that an issue as insignificant as this even shows up on the "radar"...

I have a wide experience with AG's, in house council, Lawyers in my family, etc. I am still shocked that this issue even made it to the table.

Just so I understand, was this "declaration" by the AG before or after the Texoma incident?.

Long before. We were discussing this two years ago.
