Lawyer in Cincinnati?/need ticket help
Need a lawyer to get me out of a ticket in Cincinnati
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks! -Frank 586-216-9696 See story below: On the way back from Lake Cumberland Sunday I was crossing the Kentucky/Ohio border & wasn't paying attention-3 miles in got a ticket for 73 in a 55-Thought it was 65mph Problem is that I have a ticket in Mich under advisement & if I get the 18 over in Ohio + the Mich ticket Wham! 8 points & that will REALLY screw me on my boat insurance Unreal they give you your court date on the spot w/ the ticket & it's next Friday-Nice notice! Re: Lawyer in Cincinnati?/need ticket help
Driving record and boating record are completely seperate in MI. Tickets in the car shouldn't affect your boat insurance.
Of course, it might anyway, and 8 points will screw something up, regardless. I don't have any recommendation, but good luck. |
Re: Lawyer in Cincinnati?/need ticket help
I got nailed going through Cinci Sunday also...... 75/55 They had 6 cars pulled over at once. All tickets were courtesy of the eye in the sky. Nice way to end the trip. No excuse for the speed, but I was in the middle of a line of vehicles that happened to all be traveling at the same rate of speed and was just keeping up with traffic. Oh well....... too bad the cop failed to notice my expired plate on the trailer. :p

Re: Lawyer in Cincinnati?/need ticket help
The insurance company just pulled my MVR w/ the state of Mich to quote my new boat insurance-So there is definitely a link
Needless to say this is going to cost me BIG TIME if I can't get out of it-Was hoping for someone familiar w/ the Ohio laws etc..That could give me some advice Thanks! -Frank ScarabCV-Isn't 20 over = 4 points? What are you going to do? Please advise |
Re: Lawyer in Cincinnati?/need ticket help
Nobody ever gets tickets & fights them in Ohio?
Someone's gotta be able to give me some help on this (Please & Thank you!) |
Re: Lawyer in Cincinnati?/need ticket help
No, I believe that it's still only 2 points.... although very unneeded! I HAD a clean record, so it won't hurt me too much besides my wallet, but if I were you, I would find a local attorney in your hometown to advise you. Who knows, you may get lucky and find that he has a tie to another who practices in Cinci.
Good Luck. -Scott |
Re: Lawyer in Cincinnati?/need ticket help
Simple solution & I've done this myself as well with my drivers. Pay the ticket but pay a few bucks more. When they send back the over payment check DO NOT cash it. This will not let them close the case.

Who wrote the ticket? Cincy PD? OSHP?

Re: Lawyer in Cincinnati?/need ticket help
I got nailed for 71 in a 55 on my way home from Cumberland in Nicholasville, KY.
First speeding ticket I've had in over 15 years. I just happened to be at the end of the line of vehicles traveling at the same speed I was  $160. |
Re: Lawyer in Cincinnati?/need ticket help
I did the same thing once ....Worked to my advantage...They did post the ticket on my record but it didn`t happened til almost a year after the fine.....Gave the other tickets time to go off my record

Re: Lawyer in Cincinnati?/need ticket help
Disclaimer I'm not a lawyer, although if mine is ever charged with anything she wishes I could represent her.
Most places allow for a hearing that is much like an Alfred Plea, you still maintain your innocent but admit the state has enough evidence to convict you. In traffic court its guilty with an explanation. Like you sped up to pass another vehicle and did not think you got that fast; speeding up was the only safe way to get ahead of the other vehicle. Or you failed to stop at a yellow light because it was un-safe to do so. You might get it reduced or maybe if you get a good judge dropped all together. This can also be you commited something but the ticket statute you are charged with does not really apply to you. etc etc etc.... Good if your guilty but what you are guilty of is less than what you are accused of breaking.......... |
