22 Liberator info needed
Im posting this for a friend of mine. He is looking at an early 90's 22 foot Liberator. If Im not mistaken they are made by 4winns? He was told it was powered by a 350. Any major areas of concern to look for on these boats? What kinda speed will he see on the stock power? It seems like there are a ton of them out there, so Im guessing they are pretty well made? He wants some first hand info before he makes the couple hour drive to take a peek at it. Thanks for the help, and info.

I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure that it's a splash. If I recall correctly that boat was originally the Eliminator 21. In fact, all of their boats look "familiar".

Not a splash, this is a V hull.
4 Winns built them in the 80's to 90's.
With a 350 cubic inch probably 50 plus. They were heavy boats with a cabin.
The 25 foot came with twin 350's and did 60.

I belive that 21' would be the correct size. I agree with wannabe it would probably run low 50's. They were heavy boats for there size. I have a friend that has one with a 460 ford & a king cobra outdrive I believe it runs high 50's. He says his boat weighs around 4,500 lbs which is a tank for a 21
footer but he has had it for several years & has been pleased with it. The deck on it is as solid as a tank. Although he is now wanting to move up to a larger boat 24-28' range. Its that progressive cycle we all get in ! i hope this helps some.

Re: 22 Liberator info needed
Thanks for the help guys. So what Im gathering is that they were built solid and heavy, but overall a descent boat. It will be his first boat, so it sounds like it would be a good starter to get him on the water. Again, thanks for the help.

I owned an '88 21' Liberator from '93 to '00 with a 460 Ford and King Cobra and the last 3 years it had a 540 Ford and handled the power very well. Like everybody else has said , it was a tank. Got 60/61 with the 460.
Well built boat.
