It would have to scratch it  Why not hook it to the eye?

I guess at least he has straps on it.

No.

Strapping 90 degrees off the direction of movement is a waste of time. If you had a problem, the boat would still move. Those straps are rated for a static load, not dynamic. Once the boat started moving, it wouldn't stop. Those straps would pop in a heartbeat.

...If the bow eye is reinforced properly. I've seen a couple that have torn out. No backing plate.

I DID MINE EXACTLY THE SAME. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW WELL I TOW, THE IDIOT THAT PULLS OUT IN FRONT OF ME WOULD MAKE ME A SPEEDBUMP FOR MY BOAT AS IT CAME THROUGH THE CAB OF MY TRUCK. IT TAKES AN EXTRA 2 MINUTES TO BE SAFE.

His boat, he can use chains if he wants. ;)

I see alot of cruisers being hauled on flatbed trailers that are strapped over the top.

Check out the 1/4" U bolts he drilled through the trailer beam. Thats good to attach
a fat guy's suspenders.

for starters its mark not francis.Marc from Bam and Jimmy Gaffrig were taking Marcs 36 cig. to fla. Make a long story short Jimmy fell asleep the truck and boat went of the road and started to roll the 9 foot 6 beam on the boat stopped it from going over.Needless to say if the straps failled it would have been catastrophic....the boat and truck had all left wheels off ground.the boat and truck were on the right weels only.the deck of the boat supported the rig.......got the pic.........
