South Florida Boating
Just got into the performance boat family and looking for places to go in S.Florida or people to run with, meet up with etc... A little tired of Lake Boca everyweekend. Anyone have other places to hang out with or throw an anchor. Leaving out of the Port of Ft. Lauderdale. I see very few fast boats !! anyone out there??

Several members in the area. I keep my boat there iover the winter. Maybe Lucky Strike will chime in - the florida power boat club has several runs during the year.

Re: South Florida Boating
We try and get out every Sunday. Have you been to Shooters yet?
In two weeks, Florida Powerboat Club (www.flpowerboat.com) is having the Land & Sea Poker Run (9/29-9/30). We'll be there and you should come it's a great way to meet locals. |

Re: South Florida Boating
Going to be a great weekend...............pretty good size poker run from Stuart to Peanut Island this Saturday..........hope to see everyone!!

Re: South Florida Boating
Bull if the event runs south to peanut island where is the lunch stop going to be. There aren't any marinas that can handle 50-60-70 boats for a lunch stop down there. At Peanut Island you can raft off that many boats but there are no restaurants on the island itself, everything would have to be brought to the island via the ferry.

Re: South Florida Boating
Sensation- I dont have the full intinerary, but I should have an answer soon. I am from Palm Beach Gardens and am at Peanut or Castaways or Sailfish almost every weekend. Hope to see you!

Re: South Florida Boating
Plenty of dockage there. Water can be shallow at low tide on the south side(inside) of the docks but north side is always fine. Cool bar 150 ft east, Castaways aka Square Grouper. Jimmy Buffet/ Alan Jackson shot a music video there (5 O clock somewhere). Tiny little place but is always jammed on nights/ weekends.

Nope, $1500 to boat in my backyard is not my idea of a good time. Jupiter 2 towns away from Stuart and I don't need a hotel/ golf outings so certainly didn't want to pay for them. If it was the standard 500-600 I would have done the event but we do 6-8 Poker Runs a year do it isn't like a one time opportunity. I am around at Peanut on the weekends, 32 Sunsation silver/white named Go Time. Flag me down if you see me out there on the weekends |
Re: South Florida Boating
Who is sponsering the poker run at Peanu Island? Anyone coming up from Ft. Lauderdale that is going. I may take the nice ride up if it is not too late to sign up. Let me know the specifics if you can. And if anyone is leaving from lauderdale area let me know too!
