What happened to those tabs that were being sold here to retro fit the boat-leveler and insta-trim tabs?

Can someone give a brief synopsis, I understand the guy died... what were the circumstances surrounding his passing.... :(

He was a wonderful person to work with too. He made me a set of custom tabs and he was great to talk with on the phone. He is deeply missed around here. What he was doing was awesome. So sad that he is gone.
