Cambridge Race
Who is going to the cambridge race this weekend? Does anybody have any rooms available. Hotel says they are sold out?
|
Re: Cambridge Race
Look in the OPA racers area. Lots of info about Cambridge including hotels.
Racing both days with 3 races per day!!!! :evilb: |
Re: Cambridge Race
I'm not surprised the Hyatt is sold out. There's a few other hotel/motels in Cambridge. They may not be nearly as nice but a lot less $$. Easton or Salisbury, MD are not too far either. Check out Travelocity or Orbitz, etc.

Re: Cambridge Race
We called today and got a slip on "C" dock from friday to sunday, so I can only assume there are still other slips available. Hotels rooms have been sold out for a while though.

Re: Cambridge Race
I just stopped in on my way home from working in Vienna. Mojo was just setting up and a few other boats were setting up. I'll be down Sunday. I heard from 3-4 on Sunday a wedding is taking place and no motors are to be fired up.

Re: Cambridge Race
Sorry for the wrong information. :chimp:
Is there much room at the Hyatt to watch the races or is it better to see from the fishing pier? I won't be getting there untill 12:30 on Sunday :( |
Re: Cambridge Race
I might head down Friday night. I'd love to meet some of the crew. Any plans for a gtg??

Re: Cambridge Race
You are kidding me a wedding and they really expect NO boats to be running then?
|
Re: Cambridge Race
Could you imagine, I would have paid extra money to get married at a venue during the races! Who needs a gazebo for wedding pics? Set me up on turn one and snap away!! :drink:
|
Re: Cambridge Race
I'm sure they didn't tell them " OH great we can have your wedding right between the powerboat races "
I actually feel bad for the bride if it doesn't go as planned :drink: |

Lets hope for no delays with the races or wedding.
Do you really think they told the bride??? This happened last year too, but we didn't run six races. Where to watch? These people have a pretty good view from the curved pier behind the Hyatt. It's almost scary close and your feet get wet. |

That's the great thing about this site, the boats tie up on one side of the pier and the race course is on the other side of the pier. Just turn around and there you are!

They run close to the fishing pier too. It's just out of this photo but about 50' off the course.

Re: Cambridge Race
PS - If you can't be there, you can listen to it live on www.talkoffshore.com - I believe they will be there both days.
