They build a strong piece! Give Mike a call on what they recommend on rebuild intervals.

I'm sorry but , asking if STERLING builds a good dependable motor is like asking if a Lamborghini is fast. I would venture to say STERLING has THE BEST NAME IN THE BUSINESS. Tommy at CHIEF also buils an awesome motor and is VERY well respected in the industry.

i'm asking specificly on the 1050 hp...... What my friend is
specifically interested in is how the 1050 compare to the "world class /widely respected" high-horsepower engines (1300's/1500's etc...) that Sterling is so well known for building. trust me i know Sterling is badass

Mike is a stand up guy as is his company Sterling Performance & I'm speaking from experience. One of the few in the marine business I'm sad to say. Go visit their facility. I've yet to read a negative thread about Sterling.

I actually spoke w/ Mike yesterday re: a pair of 1050's in a boat that I'm looking at. And yes, he is a great guy and had a lot of patience for my questions.

I'd also be interested in hearing from some "1050" owners.
