The Baja is larger, so it would likely ride a little better. Until it breaks in half. Then the Fountain will drive right by.

I've seen some fairly new Baja's with some pretty scary cracks that looked like they went further than the gelcoat...

36 Outlaw : 24 degrees deadrise, real 36 feet boat... Splashed from the Cigarette Mistress mold... More like a Cig to me.

36 Outlaw - Hands down if you want the ride quality...

No beak, no pad, no steps, no bull no sh@##t
This pretty much sums it up right here.....

Ride = Baja

Speed = Fountain

If ride quality is #1, then a bigger boat is the way to go. If this means giving up a couple of mph, so be it, you might not feel body aches the next morning if the going gets real rough. There is not a boat in existence thas has all the good and none of the bad. If you do alot of boating in rougher, "dirty chop" kind of conditions, the Baja would seem more ideal and safer then the smaller stepped hull. Evaluate everything in terms of your riding environment and what is important to you, and I'm sure you'll end up with the right decision.
