I disagree (sorry). I had a 30 with 300's. it would porpoise almost out of control at 75 to 90 MPH. Without a tunnel tab the boat was undrivable. An AMT is a whole different story from what I am told. I sold the boat after 3 months because of this.

i have a 98 30 spectre with 2003 300x's on 8" jackplates, x dimension is 1 5/8's of an inch above the hull spinning 14.5 x 30's and she runs 102mph...with my 15x32's she ran 107+ and have put over 200hrs on this boat...she has a mild porpoise that comes in around 60 mph and goes away at around 80 with little trim. if you trim the motors between 60-80 it will subside by 40%...it has never been an issue with mine. i've run the boat solo, full of fuel, lite on fuel, 5 passengers makes no diff. this boat never gave me an unsettling feeling. the only time it hops is when its to calm...1ft chop or better and there is NO porpoise...perfect cruise speed for mine is 80 on the button...hull goes to work ride smoothes out and its GAME ON.

The tab will help as Tantrum described. I would also advise pulling it up at high speed and not look for that last couple MPH with the tab. Since you boat in Minnesota on lakes I do not think you will have big wave problems to deal with like offshore. I would not even think of calling Mike a rookie cat driver. He has owned a STV and a American Offshore cat. I would say he is a very smart cat driver as he asks for advise on new subjects as I always do too.

No pun intended...just do yourself a favor and if your going to experiment do it wisely. I agree with Brad as far as the leave her up n outta the way, have seen to many instances where ya run it level and they'll trip and hook...practice makes perfect...Mike ya got nothing but time...be safe and enjoy

What kind of top end numbers are you seeing? Props? I think I'm getting 14.5 X 32 Merc Cleavers.
