Talking Thanks Bob at Full Throttle Marine!!

I found there are still honest straight forward marine mechanics out there.

I have had pure hell with my engine not idling and wanting to die everytime I put it into gear. This has been going on for 3 months .Mind you it went on a dyno and all that good stuff. The engine then went back to the first marine mechanic in which I had to call the police to get my engine back, but I won't go into that story.

Changed IAC motors and TP sensors and still no luck. It still wouldn't idle below 1100rpm. Board member Bobl responded and said to give him a shot at it. Said he wouldn't fix it for free, but wouldn't rake me over the coals. I dropped it off in Austin on friday. Said he would get to it on monday. Got a call on monday afternoon and he said he had great confidence he fixed it.

Someone had advanced the timing to 36 degrees!! What the F*** I said!!

He has it idling between 700 and 800 rpm now!!

I have great confidence my idling problem are over with! I have my suspicions has to what happened between the dyno, the old marine mechanic and me getting it back to put in the boat!!

I'll be picking it up on staurday to give it a shaake down run on Lake Travis!!

Bobl only charged me for the couple hours it took him to find the problem. He rattled off a few more things he found while investigating and wrote them down for me.

Thanks bobl!!!

I told you in your thread to check the timing. I had the same problem.

Glad you got it fixed.
