Yes , Tim it was cool, and one can only imagine what Destin will provide.

this certainly wasnt a roof cam, or fly by night set up.
a total production team was utilized.

Again thanks to all that made it happen!

It made it a pleasure being part of it, and seeing it live. Being from the midwest, and living on the east coast. that desert was spectacular, what a georgous backdrop for a race!!

Pete,
I think another item that made it cool/better, was the angles of the camera shots that they got. Back of the boats, straight over top, in front of the boats coming at you, multiple boats in the shots, great turning and cornering shots, rooster tail hitting the camera, etc... Overall, I thought that the camera views and the change up of the views was much better. The fact that they moved around the boat every 5-15 seconds and didn't just show that back view of the boats going forward was MUCH better. I also think that the Bud Select and Hooters cockpits cameras views were much better than I have seen in the past. A Great angle of both driver and throttleman... Ben

Re: Technology has caught up!! Boat Racing "LIVE"

Thank you for nice comments. One of the main reasons this productions went so well I hired a professional live network team. Rich and his crew do NFL, NBL, Golf and they did the Catalina race in July. So once they set the racecourse we map out plan to get the shoots I was looking for. My homework for the last two weeks was watching NASCAR and other races and trying to apply that here. Being in the production truck and helping Rich direct this race was a once in a lifetime feeling. Rich picked very quickly on what boats to follow for a great show. And on top of all that to watch Bud and CRC duke it out like they did was crazy. And to Martin and Charlie calling this race was very cool.
At one point in the show I thought to my self I sure hope it looks this good on TV because I can believe what I’m seeing. Rich is in Destin right now doing a site survey so we can see what it’s going to take to pull this off and make it even better than Vegas. We have some paper work to work out and then we can re-broadcast it. I’m shooting for next week.
Stay tune
Kevin Cooper

We are thinking about selling commercials spots if you are interested PM me. I will put you on the list.
