42 Fountain vs. 382 Formula vs. 36 Baja
I currently own a 2004 Baja 33 Outlaw with 496 HO's I am fairly happy with, but its not quite enough for the bigger water. I am considering decent buys on each of these boats. Give up your thoughts and comments please !!

Re: 42 Fountain vs. 382 Formula vs. 36 Baja
If it is for bigger water, I would drop the Baja from the list. The Fountain and Formula are both great boats built for bigger water. I would go with the Fountain but I am a little biased. What power in the Fountain and Formula?

Define what kind of bigger water you want to run in. Ocean? LOTO? Lake Travis? What's your price range? What year of boat are you looking for? Are you looking for new or used?
Without knowing the specifics of each boat you have your eye on;
The 382 Formula will probably have the best ride.
The 42 Fountain will probably be the longest one per Reggie's ruler. ( )
The 36 Baja will run well, but might be be lower one on build quality.

Considering Baja is a true Deep V with no steps, why wouldn't it be an option in bigger water? And considering netting out the transom and the beak, the Founatin 42 is really a 38 foot boat. You could probably go Outlaw 40 for cheaper than a 42 Fountain.
Thank you for being honest about your Fountain bias though, that is at least honorable, aside from the bashing of course I am biased towards Baja, as you can see.

from what I see you are talking 3 totaly different boats. in all respects. if we are talking bias I would have to say take a look at 37/43 Active Thunder. Brian I can;t believe you let that one slide
