I see those setups only have 2 vavles. most hydrohoist controls i have seen have 4 valves....1 for each quadrant. could this box be rigged using one valve for both back quadrants, and the other for both front? wonder how often you need to control each individual side when raising it ? |

I found a picture of a 4 valve box. It looks as though the blower pushes air down a the middle support bracket, and into the bottom base which acts as a manifold and feeds all 4 valves. Am i correct in assuming this ? If so i have a full machine/fab shop at my disposal to make this happen. Next question is when you launch and open the valves (without the motor on), How/where does the air escape ? Is there a blow off in the motor that lets it out ? |

Yep, poor design on the HH controls in my opinion. Blowing a mist of water right on thru that electrical blower motor. A buddy is on his 3rd motor because of this condition.. My Galva lift vents the air thru separate valve connected to the manifold, also has a check valve in the line going to the blower= no water can get to the motor.

I have a slide door on the manifold (box) that opens for launching. If I forget to open it, then it blows back threw the blowers.
If you have a machine shop, it wouldn't be a big deal to make. |

Just a quick piece of advice: make sure you always, always, always drop the stern in first all the way, and then drop the bow. When lifting the boat you must have ropes that attach to the stern cleats on both sides. Always, always, always lift the bow completely until the front tubes bubble air out, only then do you raise the stern. Also having four valves is a must so you can drop the boat evenly.

they take two blower motors connected parallel to a common manifold that all four valves are connected to. Grainger has the motors in stock. Thats where I purchased them when I needed to. Definetly need four valves. Must lift bow first and drop stern first. Hoses should be replaced every couple of seasons. I loved mine. Looking for a bigger one now. 15,000lbs+

As stated in the add, this one is in very good shape. A Hydro Hoist is like anything else mechanical. They need to be used often to stay in a good working condition.

I emailed hydro hoist and told them the situation. I asked for a quote on the complete box and another qoute on just the pump. They only quoted me on the box ( $1,028.44 ) and not the pump. I have a fiberglass dock box that I can use to house the pump and the valves....just really need a motor. |
