i believe that boat was tested in Powerboat mag, a few years ago, when it was new, and Bob T. Loved it, except the crawl under the dash to get to the cabin ordeal! They are rocket ships, I just don't care for sit down boats in BIG water.

unfortuantely couldnt make it to MD, would have had noway to get boat off lift as the owner is putting an addition on his house and has only power for house from a genny...the seller of the 353 fastec called me and made me an offer i almost cant refuse...now im shopping prices for a trailer

the 353 fastec isnt what i was really looking for but for the deal i can get i'm thinking i can use it for a season or 2 for FREE. knowing my history it'll be for sale as soon as weather breaks...lol

If the deal is good do it! Like you just said, you can always sell it and keep searching for something else down the road. You know I am biased to the Phantom, but when a good deal presents itself my bias goes out the window with a quickness. Enjoy the Fastec while you can, colder weather is coming (already here for most boating days) for us up here in NJ. It has been interesting reading about your search.
