OSO Members I need your opinion
Guys
I am getting ready to take my fresh water go fast boat to Florida this winter. What kind of problems am I going to occur. This boat has never been in salt water. It has murals painted on its sides which are clear coated. Its doesn't have sea strainers do I need them? I am planning on boating around Ft Myer beach and the river and canels around Cape Coral. I am planning on keeping it on a lift and I know I have to flush the motors out after every use. Or should I just go buy a beater boat that way I don't have to worry about ruining my pride and joy. But as you guys all know you have to look good when you are out trying to pickup the babes. |

Wax it before you get it wet, then just give it a good rinse on the lift. Sea Strainers are not required but a lot of the water in that area gets very shallow (I learned the hard way). When are you headed down? I'll be in Sanibel most of the winter with the boat.

The only problem with salt water boats are the people who dont take care of them! We have some of the nicest go-fast boats here in south florida and they look like new. It may take you a little more time at the end of the day to rinse , wax, polish, cover cock pit , flush out etc.. but you will have no problem unless you pick up some blonde and she doesnt let you see daylight for a few weeks and you leave the boat in the water !!!! :evilb:

I am going down to the townhouse Nov 2nd staying for a month. Then coming home and going back down Jan 3th. Will be down the whole winter staying until first of April. We are right off of County Club Blvd which is off of Cape Coral Parkway. Last March we join the Ft Myer Offshore Powerboat Club. We met all the guys on a fun run at the lunch stop which was a the end of Captiva. Some resturant call Sunset Waters(I think thats the name) Anyway I want to play this year as last year I just rented boats when I want to go out. Its not the same my ego is always wanting to have my go fast. Steve |

That's OK as the boat is name Blondes Preferred. Its world famous on Lake Cumberland. Plus I am looking for a new mistress. As Clay Washington always said "You can never have enough Claymates" in my case you can never have enough BLONDES. |

Steve, you were at tween waters - they love my boat in the AM. I'm going to destin and then probably Sanibel. If you wanna hook up, let me know. I'll be down for a couple weeks this trip then back here. I'm down every other week thru the winter.

Pick up some Salt-Away and flush your motors with it.
