The movie was cancelled due to the lack of funding.....

While Aronow might be a legend around here, he's pretty much not a household name. On the other hand, get a big name actor intersted in the project and you have a different story. Fast boats, piles of cash, bangin' broads- what's not to like?

His son was promoting the book about his father a couple years ago and there was talk about a movie soon after.
I would agree not mainstream enough to be a moneymaker.

THey made one years ago called THUNDERBOATROW (I think is the name)

anyway I bought a copy of it from a member here. Its old school and very grainy but it follows the actuall story pretty close

Thunderboat row was ok but cheezy. I cant believe this story never made it to the Big screen , it has it all..
Now 188th st. is gone as well without a monument of any kind

Yea, but ask anyone if they know what a Cigarette boat is and 99% of the people will say "yes".

We were approached a few years ago about funding for the "real" movie. They supposedly had Donzi in and needed more investors to make it work.I wasn't interested in investing, but would have loved to see it happen. They had a story outline and partial script,I was told, but would only send it to investors. They seemed sincere, too bad.
