I think part of the problem is we don't think it can happen to "us". It happens in a blink of an eye and unfortunatly it can be tragic. Especially in a group of boats.
Even in "fun runs", someone should be in charge, and anyone refusing to wear at least a lanyard should be asked to leave. |

The first I heard of it was your repost of Jims' post . We encourage all to wear vests , you're right it should be no big deal . Two thumbs up to all who helped in the rescue !! Amazing though! Usually something like that happens, word spreads very quickly.... I have done the run in the past. Really enjoyed myself as well. But it is a day where people are just at an unofficial meet to go boating together. This way, everyone is responsible for themselves... I just hope in the future that people take life vests more seriously... Had no one been there to pluck them out in time, they could have ended up dead.... :( |
