Is this a trick question? I've never had any handling issues with my surface drives, but then again, I ain't running 115, but I'd bet my boat was probably 10 mph faster than a similarly powered boat with conventional drives in 1986. I doubt many went past it with stock power.

Not an Arnie, but just the physics of not having to turn the power twice makes for a much more dependable drive. I've had zero problems with my Kaama's, and I'm sure that Arneson has newer technology, and better material and machining than was available in 1986.

All that stuff you read about low speed handling problems with surface drives is way overblown in my opinion, besides, how many people buy a boat based on it's low speed handling ability. :)

ASD-6's or the new ASD-7's over any bravo style drive, Period.

Here is a set of ASD-8's on my boat with a No Notch in the transom on a Nortech 4300 V. Side view shows that they do not stick out any more than 4" compared to a #6 Merc drive.

I didn't look up and see that there was a poll...

If someone is concerned about docking, call Hustler and ask them boat to boat, Bravo to Arneson which docks better.

Best part is you also start getting Christmas cards from Rik with every drive purchased. :D

no way a bravo is going to hold 700hp... the asd handles better than ANY boat i ever had... no trouble backing, docking, ect..
