very nice.....wonder if you could get the same speed using arneson drives(year after year) and a non-stagger set up? The stagger setup robs too much cockpit on the fountains.

Fountain advertised at the Miami show the new 38 with 600's doing 105 or somthing like that and they talked about 114 with 700's and everyone here got in an up roar that they couldn;t do it. Well now you know they can do those speeds so why would you not think the 35 with stagered 525's and r&d upgrades do the new claimed speeds?

Is Fountain the only boat builder that places a disclaimer on top speed? I found my test report to be pretty nuts on.

I agree with my test report also...after prop testing, it got 1.5mph faster.

Unfortunately there are some who can't really drive his(or her) boat well enough to attain the top speed its capable of, so that disclaimer will keep any lawyers from getting involved.

Fast boats, no question-we ran last years 35 single step 525 side by side, xr's ...went like a scared cat, 91-92 on GPS. We sell alot of them, as well as OL- depends on what you like, and how deep your pockets are!

true...that I'm sure is most often the limiting factor to real-world duplication of "acheivable" speeds, that and weight...ie enough fuel to get back to the dock.

How do other builders test for top speed? Is it with full fuel and max. occupants, somewhere in between? Is their another 35' running 525's running these speeds (light on fuel or not)?
