Re: LOTO Extreme Pontoon Boat Test Fatality
This was not one of their high performance twin engine pontoons. It was powered by a single 225. A magazine was doing a series of boat tests and several builders were there. My builder took one with a 200 Honda,it ran 38 mph,I imagine low 40's on the Playcraft, My personal boat is a trilog w/150,runs maybe 34. Trilog pontoons lean out a little in a hard turn, but it's hard to imagine hooking like that. I never wear a vest or lanyard in my pontoon, always considered a pontoon to be the ultimate safe boat. In fact,I hardly ever see vests worn on any pontoon. This tragedy really makes you stop and think. Prayers to those involved.

It kind of makes you think if they have exceed the speeds designed for pontoons. However, I am sure these builders have done extensive research on them.
