Default My Offshore Confession

For years I grew up around boats. Mostly 30-40' Convertibles and Sport Fishermen. I know big block Crusader inboards, atrocious fuel consumption, and 18kt cruise.

As much as I've always lusted after a nice classic Cigarette, I realized today......I've never been on a real Go-Fast boat. So for all you guys who just ran out of season and are pounding keyboard until the winter thaws out, remember, there's always someone (me) it sucks for more than you!

It ain't all that bad. We pulled ours out yesterday for the yr. I'm ready to tear into it tinkering/upgrading/piddeling with it already. Got my to do list for this winter.

I boat yr round. 4 months of it just happens to be in my garage.

LOL same here, I SWEAT boats...

Baddest one I've ever been was a 24' Baja Outlaw. When I was 12 years old, I thought it was BADDER than bad.

All I've been doing for the past 3 years is looking at used Apaches. I'll get there one day. I figure I'll give myself 5 years. If I'm 26, and still boatless..... I guess I'll try my hand at bank robbin'

HA--- I've been on plenty of them and even scary fast ones... but I am 26 now... boatless ( I have 2 sailboats) Had back surgery so I can't boat for a while and my wife and I had a baby and she doesn't want the money spent on a boat... you guys don't have it that bad.

captnate, no kidding, 350 hours, that is awesome. what type of blower motors do you have and can they handle that pretty flawlessly in a season. coming from me, a boater who put 200 hours a year from may thru oct., i thought people with 12 month seasons did not boat like that. curious what you have to do in a typical 12 months for normal maintenance. full of envy, hammer

p.s. got any extra dock space, i would be willing to suffer thru 12 whole months of boating to see how miserable it would be, notttttttttt!!!!!

us1, my buddies and i feel the same way. we had 3 powerboats wide across my buddies shop 2 winters ago with an excuse of something to fix every weekend. his shed is 30x50 so it left very little room with a 32 a 38 and a 20 but damn it was fun. we had lawn chairs in a circle staring at them with 20 degrees outside and kerosene heaters burning inside. this was great comradere (sp). hammer
