You guys are funny.

Pro1, I agree with you fully about 2 many things said about something that's not been really tested yet. It would of been great to get all the talk out after it's really run with 525s, 700s or even 1100s.

I'm curious, being that I'm new to the Doug Wright boats do you yourself have any bad experiences with them first hand?

No I do not.

I was just bustin poor Wiggler's chops. I did call Doug and spoke with Doug before I bought the Skater. I wanted an Arneson package, I did not want a boat that I needed permits to tow, although the 32 is 114 wide.

I am sure that the DW is very nice.

I have decided to put my DW 32 up for sale. It sits on a very nice Myco trailer, and the current stage the boat is in as follows. The hull is ready less paint on the sides deck and cockpit. Motor compartment transom and bottom are done in white. The deck has been raised up to accommodate either super charged or twin turbo applications. I have 135k in to the way it sits. If anyone is interested, call me at 805-896-6886. It will hit the classifieds by the weekend.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i would have to disagree about Grant's. he recently rigged a boat for me and after about 2 hrs of run time i had several problems. the worst was when the transmissions where mounted to the motors someone forgot to use a torque wrench and loctite. i'm lucky the flywheel didn't come off. i was shocked when i called grant he said that there is no warranty. i knew that there was no warranty but when someone mocks up a motor and forgets to tighten bolts thats just plain stupidity. then came the answering machine. it seemed Grant didn't want to fix his own mistakes. and after talking with several other people this isn't Grant's only screwup. my lesson cost me a several thousand dollars but i'm passing this info for free.

I have heard nothing but good things about Doug Wright boats. Why would they design the deck/cockpit to look so similar to a MTI?

So the boat that Wiggler says is complete and ready to go is Blings that is NOT so completed and ready to go?

It's a bit similar, but not the same. I could only imagine what a cool package this would be with the new Mercury 700 nxt.

What is your affiliation with Doug Wright?
Are you an investor, owner, employee, exclusive dealer?

Im starting to do some leg work on my next boat and have been waiting to see what Doug does with his pleasure version.

Have been talking to Doug for quite some time about his boats, We both agreed the new 35 in a pleasure version would be a great boat that we could keep affordable and get great performance with mild power and be able to get insurance easier, I'm very impressed with the 32 outboards and their racing success, I'm a dealer for the 35 . there will only be 6 of them produced a year, I believe it will be a great boat for LOTO because it has awesome rough water ability, plus I think it is not only awesome looking but built by Doug and his son, knowing how they are built I know the quality is as good as it gets. We are working with 3 customers now and hope to have one myself by summer 07, like the merc 700 package Ilmor710. Call me if your interested, heading down to dougs in near future to see the completed 35 hull. Really want to see 3600cat buy one and put his turbines in it and break all shootout records with Sean driving and 3600 on the hammers.

Get ready guys!!

The first 32 pleasure deck with outboards will hit the water in two weeks.

Loan Shark poker run version.

Special thanks to Doug Wright, Peter Harding of Love Muscle fame and Johnny T from TNT for the new horses.

The boat will have consumer friendly 300xs motors. After Brett Anderson from BBlades builds me some new props the boat should see 120.

We will post some pics when I pick it up.

Re: New Doug Wright 35 Light speed Completed...

The boat is done and looks bad ass.

Ryan Beckley will finish the graphics and post some pics tommorow.

Unfortuately the new motors only turn 6150 so a true top speed number will not be available until I get a set of 34-35 wheels. All I have are 31 3 blades which push her to 104 with 100 gal fuel and then the motors actually go into gaurdian mode and slow down to 5 grand.

I am confident based on the acceleration to 100 plus that the boat will see a big number. Time will tell.

Re: New Doug Wright 35 Light speed Completed...

Got a set of stock 15x34's on the limiters at 112. When BBlades is done with the props we should see some great speeds.

I know that their is more speed in the convertible.

I ran all day with Gary Ballough and we used only 60 gallons I don't think the boat went under 100 with GB on the sticks.

DPT will post some pics.

Well,

With 35 hours the boat is averaging 20gal/hr with an average speed of 87.5 according to my GPS and smartcraft.

Top speed of 112 but the motors are on the rev limiters. Stock merc props 15/34. Brett at BBlades will customise them after Miami for me to get some more speed.

Pretty cool for an outboard boat.
