Water in oil
have a 30ft Scarab w/twin 502s. Lost RPM on port side, told I hit something...after much srambling, found upper & lower units. Installed, still didnt solve problem. had boat hauled...told trans. shot. had port trans rebuilt, starboard trans freshened. Finally ran the boat..starboard water pump let go. Had impeller replaced. ran boat again. Now, find water in the port motor! What gives? Can water get in oil during install if motor is turned? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom

Re: Water in oil
It's possible that you've got a leaking engine oil cooler. That's the only way you'll get that much water in the oil. If the cooler starts leaking water, the only place it can go is into the oil, which eventually ends up back into your engine.
Pull the oil cooler and pressure test it to be sure.

If You Had As Much Water As You Say You Did. You Really Need To Pull The Engine And Do Something To Prevent Rust So You Can Use It Next Season.
