Re: Great Moments in Cat History

I don't have time to read back through, but one of the great monents had to be when a little company in Douglas Michigan popped there first 24' cat out of the mold......thats when cats were forever changed......100MPH on 400HP

Hi Rich,

I read on the American Offshore board, that Cliff Waters bought the original 31 Chris Cat molds designed by and from George Linder.

Obviously I knew George (and you) designed the Shadow Cat, but I didn't realize George penned the 31 Chris Cat and owned and sold the molds as well.

Could you clarify this?

Thanks
Evan

The Chris Cat was a 30..not a 31...and the original mold was made from a Shadow Cat with modifications to the sponson and overall width and dihedral to better accommodate big blocks..... These modifications were made by George and he received royalties for each Chris Cat made. Later, He and Tim Ciasulli wound up with the molds and sold them to whoever.....

I think he sold them to Dempster.

Whatever happened to Tim Ciasulli? Didn't he build a knock-off called the Max Cat in the 90's? Or was this a joint venture? I remember the Max Cat looked more like a small Jaguar?
