Can't buy anything on the water around here for less than
1.5 mil. No inventory. Someone must have some money.
My brother in law sells Cobalts. A 23 ft bowrider goes for
60k. Had their best year ever. Go figure

Everyone selling out to buy a new 35 or what?

I guess I was just shocked that they had jumped so much in listings, maybe people trying to unload before winter?
Just a thought....Fountain builds and sells around 8 times
the boats as Cig. Thru the 90'S cig was building somewhere
between 8-20 boats a year. Fountain was building 10-15
times as many. Really when you look at it Cig has a higher
percentage to build ratio for sale. (Percentage to build)
What the Hell does that mean? You get my point.
Alot of new dealer stock for sale in the classifieds also.

That's a good point that has been discussed in earlier threads.

The difference, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that a higher percentage of Cig. sellers are actually MOVING UP to a new Cig, or maybe an OL.

Why is it when a new boat, cig, or fountain, or O/L is featured in a magazine, I see it for sale months later at places like Lake Cumberlane (sp) ? Alot of cats too with very specific paint, for sale??

Seems like these manufactures make these over the top boats with Mercs latest and greatest, for no one?? Just hope it sells??

A lot of those boats are already sold.... they show them for their advertising spread.

I would say that is probably true for all used boats to some
extent. Some are moving up,some are moving out and
some are changing the style of boat they own. I don't
think Cig owners have an exclusive to moving up.
Do Cig owners sell to buy a Fountain? Probably not. Do Fountain owners sell to buy a Cig? I'd have to say
sometimes they do. But most I know move to a larger
or newer Fountain. I think once people find what they
like, they stay pretty loyal to that brand. Unless its a
P.O.S.

Mines in there so I can upgrade.

To another beak.

Also, as stated before, there are almost as many new fountains listed as there are used ones.
