Lake Mead is about twice the size of Rhode Island, 1.5 million acres, about 150 miles long and 10 miles at it's widest point....I'm sure it gets rough on breezy days.

Mead is really deep so it doesn't get that bathtub thing going like Lake Erie. It can get really windy there. It does get some nasty and "supersized" washboard chop. None of those big ocean rollers but definitely water you could easily stuff a boat on under the right conditions.

I've been on Lake Mead a few times, wind is an issue. Boat Rental places will not let boats out when it's too windy. However, I would not call it "rough" at all, I thought they were kidding at first. Accidents happen but the Majority is due to driver error.

Been on Lake Mead since the early 60's. In spring and fall, it can get choppy (even rough at times). When at full pond it has over 1200 miles of shoreline, plus the grand canyon when the water is high. The water temp is in the 80's for at least 6 months per year, and mostly very clean and clear. I used to boat from March thru December. Rarely a bad day on Lake Mead...

I am on Lake Mead often. I will be making a video of just how bad it can get on my new 36OutLaw. It has one of the highest death tolls for a national park per year. Call it weather call it stupid people. That lake gets rough! But Burts right you can be on the boat in December on Sat. and go snow skiing at Lee Canyon 45min. away on Sunday. Great Lake!
