Lakes close to Wheeling, WV?

I'm trading my boat next week and we are meeting in Wheeling, WV. We need a place to do a quick in water test of both boats. Anyone know what is the closest lake/river to Wheeling that would be good for this? Preferably close to the highway and hotels.

Ohio River is right there. Hotels/casino on the island. River is way high tho.
Salt fork state park about 45mins east. Hotels in Cambridge intersection of I77 and I70

If you go to Salt Fork, my rec. use the morning glory ramp by the dam on the s/east end. The west ramp was flooded last week. Usable but wet feet required.
