Now for the good news!

1 Attachment(s)
Had a great weekend is Key West. As far as the boating end of things, Other then dropping my fuel cap in the water, everything went great. I'm only posting one photo, the only one that matters!!
P.S.
This wasn't while on the Poker run!!!

You were due for something to go off without a hitch. Honkin' speed too....

Funny, if I dropped my cap in the water, i'd be pissed about it.......With your luck, only losing the cap is cause for a celebration... :D Guess it's all about perspective, huh?

Gino, WTF??? :D Every boat I've been on has a safty catch on the gas cap! That beautiful fast boat does not have this feature? :drink: Congrats on a fun safe weekend.
Mike

A poker run is not a race! We cruised at 45 to 50. :D

Truthfully, Stu has always been about saftey. His pace boat keeps us at about 75 to 80. Once we got to the ocean and spread out we picked up the pace a bit but nothing crazy.

Are you getting the engines ready for Joey's new motors.
Congratulations on a good run.

Hi Jeff, I thought he was going to have them this weekend. We bumped the boost up to 12 lbs and changed the rev limiters. That's the only reason the boat was so fast this weekend. I'm putting it back to normal specs tomorrow!! I will call you tomorrow. Gino

Great, I have a question I wanted to ask you.

Re: Now for the good news!

He would have went 170mph but the rag in his gas hole slowed him down!

Re: Now for the good news!

Are you still running the 1:35 gears? What RPM were you turning?

I am bummed we could not make Key West this year. Next time.

That sounds like a terrible personal issue.

Brad, I'm very sorry, But I can't give up any of our secrets!

We bumped the boost to about 12 lbs and changed the rev limiters. I have to tell you, the motors were screaming. I was just waiting for one of them to blow up. While watching it climb, over 150 every mile an hour feels like a lot more. Very cool but a little scary. The attitude of the boat never changed. Still rode like it was on rails. Just scary anticipating an engine problem.

Wow, you have been there and done that. No need to do it again!

Now baby those engines at a mere 100 MPH cruise. <gg>

Stay safe and keep writing those great stories. Hopefully all of them will be past tense in the future, cause nothing else is going to go wrong for you!

Cheers

I'd be so disapointed too... being kept about 75-80 mph...

Thank you. The motors ar now back to normal. We channged the pullys and changed out the rev limiters. It was fun to do it "once". I'm sure my Defribulator was about 10 second away from going off!! It's nice to know what the boat is capable of doing. It's incredible how the MTI's handle speed. Randy has really done a good job designing them. Wheather your doing 120 or 160 the attitude is exactly the same.
