Good post. We can only get 87 on the water in the northwest. My motors need at least 92 or they will pop under load. I have been limited to runs were I do not have to refuel.

Where can I find a chart (or formula) that shows how much Torco additive is needed to bring 89 octane up 2 poinjts to 91 octane?

I can not fine this info on the Torco site!

I read that Torco leaded additive is no longer available. Just the unleaded. True?

When added to 190 gallons or so of 93 octane , it makes a batch of approx 99 octane fuel per the above ratio.

But be very care-full , when splashed it will instantly stain your gel coat and upholstery , it's extremely toxic liquid you should wear a mask and you definitely need to use gloves and a monster size funnel.

This season we pulled some boost out of our rigs to avoid the above hassle, if we couldn't get 93 at our Marina we would still be using it , it works!

I was always told that If the octane additive can be packaged in a plastic container your wasting your $ it's junk!

http://www.torco.com/

I keep two 5 gallon cans in the garage. A quart for every 20 gallons will take 89 and make it 93.

$148.00 for a 5 gallon can. If you do the math versus paying for 93 it is not that bad. The freight is a killer. UPS charges and arm and a leg to ship the stuff.
