Re: response to my FS ad
It can't hurt to send the info requested. All you would be doing is spending a couple of minutes typing. It doesn't quite sound like your everyday scam. It might be on the up and up. Play it out and see what happens.
As said, don't give any info regarding bank or personal stuff. |
Re: response to my FS ad
got a similar response 3 years ago on my 29 scarab 3 weeks later it was in a container and on its way to Finland

Re: response to my FS ad
Simple solution is to ask for a phone#, if he really wants the boat he'll call, if not its a scam. Also the responses are automated usually, ive replied to ads like this with a simple F-U and then got a response back that says something like "sound great, give me your bank info and ill forward a check". f-in SCAMMERS!!!

Also remember that when dealing with overseas deals, wire transfer of cash into your account is the safest way to do it.

Just to be safe I would open a temporary account. Let us know how it goes. |
Re: response to my FS ad
So far, he's asked legitimate questions which are only related to the boat. Stuff that people who are genuinely interested would ask. So, it cannot hurt you in any way to answer.
Keep in mind that US$ is quite weak in relation to euro at the moment and the US market prices do look very attractive to European buyers. However, if he goes on to ask personal info or offers funny payment schemes, well... |
