If it's Cigs' molds(or Fountains') I could give a rats azz. If you came over and helped me change the angle of my trim tab mounts is the boat now a "Greg and some Jackazz" special.....?

I don't care who built it, I don't see anyone pointing out that the new OL cat was/is designed by MP. It's still an OL, right?

True. But IF they would have broken the record, who would have claimed it? Cig or Skater.

Let me state that I am not a Fountain groupie but there is a lot of hatred on this board towards them. I own a Fountain and I love my boat but I would take a Cig in a heartbeat. Some day I would like to be able to afford one. Right now I can afford a Fountain and in my opinion for the price, there is not a better boat to own.

I am not trying to start an argument or war, I am just trying to get the facts and state my opinions. I would not resort to name calling. I would not say anyone is "dense" for stating their opinions of for forgetting something.

You are right. But, there is a difference between designing and building.

Why did Cigarette bring a 46 foot boat to run the kilo? everyone knows that a 42 foot fountain is only a 37 foot boat . Same goes for Outerlimits why did'nt they bring their simaliar sized boats to try for the record? seems to me that fountain was at a huge disadvantage having 9 or 10 ft less boat in the water at those kind of speeds, that thing shoud have been,
well uncontrollable. Im sure that if Cigarette and Outerlmits were to bring their 38 or 39 with the same power as there kilo boats, and as close as they were to the 42 (37) fountain's mph they would have been king. Why didn't they? After all if your going to that expence why wouldnt you put your best foot forward ? Or did they? Its Hard for me to believe that a fountain or any boat for that matter can be that much different.

You think, I would have never guessed.

Funny how the OL and Cig race boats....ooops race boat (they each only have 1 ) look like a Fountain w/o beek of course.

The low profile, little freeboard, sleek hulls. Cig steals Ben R and OL ponies up the Micko gaming tribe from who else but Fountain. Why don't others steal or beg competent people from other builders? Ideas, thoughts please??

Fountain. What all others compare/***** to.

Give 'em hell!!

As opposed to what? High profile, big freeboard and not-so-sleek hulls?

Am I to believe that Fountain 'invented' all of those things and everyone else who incorporates those elements in their design in just a copycat?

Not trying to stir sh!t, I like Fountains, but you are painting with very broad strokes there.

The kilo Fountain was a 42 hull with NO swim platform measured from bow to stern.
You like your boats and I like mine so that is what keeps everyone in business. Would I buy a 38 or 42 Cigarette? Heck Yeah! Would I buy a 38 or 42 Fountain? Heck Yeah!
