I'm running a baja 272. The best it has ran is 92.8 mph gps,5800 rpm's,1.50 drive w/32 pitch 4 blade labbed prop,it will run 89 ish any day of the week w/4 people and 3/4 tk of gas. The video was of boat idling in driveway after installing a stellings box this past summer while checking for leaks, bleeding the steering lines out, etc. I usually run ggb mufflers,in the video they weren't back on yet. The sound from thje cockpit is much different, when idling it is like others described, there is a slight ringing noise from blower rattling the step up gears along with a steady slight whine. At wot throttle is sounds sorta like a turbine,Smitty
What drive are you running ? looks like a bravo ( I would assume an XR.) Any idea what your boat weighs ?
I assumed that I would get some whinning sound which is perfectly fine with me. I was mainly woundering how much cam chop it would cut out , which from the rear it doesn't sound like it cut too much out. Do you know the specs. on the cam you are running ? Have you ever had your engine on a dyno ? Sorry for all of the questions it just that it is winter & cold so it makes for good computor racing !!

Cam is hyd roller around 230/238 at.050 and .610 lift,RMbuilder spec'd it if you want exact numbers on a cam custom built for your motor he is very good. Motor made a little under 950 hp on tyler crocketts dyno at 5700 and a little over 950 ftlbs tq at 4700. Tq band was 800 plus ft lbs from 3500 past 5800. Outdrive is a bravo style with every upgrade part max marine worx sells plus recently a special gear treatment I been experimenting with on the lower gears. I repair my own drives and have a full out max worx drive for a spare too. Most their parts along proper, exacting clearences will help a bravo live for a while in a single v(mine is around 5500-6000 lbs w/fuel and passengers) with some pretty healthy power. The mufflers help my boat idle better and do not slow it down whatsoever,i just had them off in the video because we were in process of putting boat back together and they weren't on at the time,Smitty
