went to napa yesterday and what they had was something they call pipe tread fitting that seemed to screw not deep enough according to me. So I went to 2 different marina today and what they offered me was the same thing napa had. They even told me they took those at napa!

So I figured I should contact flo-scan to see if they use pipe tread or tube tread fitting...Any idea about that?

Mine came from NAPA. It's the same thread as an air line fitting. It turned in enough threads.

Here's a couple of pics. I also mounted the reset switch to the left of the glovebox opening.

nice and clean. My engines are carburated and I think I need the pulsation damper according to the book, but they did not send / sold them to me. Did you take your filters from where to refer us to? Flow Ezy I think is the name of the company.

I used the FlowEz-they are the red things before the Floscan. Not sure about the dampeners on Carbed motors.

you don't have to have them but they help accuracy. I was told that when I talked to them (tech dept) before kit purchase, and have no reason to doubt it. My twin engine carbed install w/dampers was ALWAYS within (most often less than) 2% (2 gals. on 100) on total (over is how I cal'd it) and still is to this day according to the new owner.

totalizer said 100 gals used, I was going to fit 98.x gals back in it period. Repeated about 150 times in the last ten years I'm sure between myself and the new owner. Even closer on a half tank stop. Wonderful freaking product.

I've been using Floscan this year. Can't really compare the reading to the real gas consumption because I don't always fill to the top because of the weight... But I looked at my 2 needles today, and, long story short, I burn (sorry it shows I'm burning) , at 3000 rpm roughly 5 gallons per hour, per engine. at 4000 rpm, it shows 10 gallons / hour per engine. at 5000 rpm, it shows 15 gallons per hour per engine. remember I have twin 454-485 HP. Do you guys think it makes sense??? reding it that way I think it shows less than reality... On the other hand, when I pull t the gas dock... well I think it's enough! But seriously, do you think my reading is pretty accurate?

I'll wait for someone to answer but if nobody answer, I'll start a new tread to see what could be a real gas consumption in gal / hour...

Do the actual gallons used match up to your totalizer? If so then you are accurate. If not, you need to adjust it.

I don't wanna know how much fuel I'm burning..... My wife is already my rev limiter, I don't need her watching the flow scan all day long... :hitfan:

no. your reading 1/2 of actual burn. it's in the cal. check the instructions and the dip switches on the back.

I will try to remember what the deal is. when I first installed mine I had the same condition and it was the setup at the meter head...

I use the twinscan & am happy with them. If they say I used 150 gallons I'll full it up and the pump stops at 150 gallons within a gallon or two everytime.
